Miloš Meier | Drumming Syndrome

DECEMBER 2024. YEAR IN REVIEW

I last posted here in the “News” section in April. Since then, until almost the end of this year, I have unfortunately been plagued by health issues. As a result, I had to cancel the planned Drumming Syndrome concerts and played many Dymytry concerts with great difficulty. For example, the Dymytry concerts abroad – whether at festivals in Spain and Switzerland or during the tour in England and Holland, where we performed as special guests of the American band Mushroomheads – were particularly challenging and mentally exhausting. There were both good and bad moments, but I always tried to deliver the best and most professional performances at every show, which at times took place almost every day. This was the case, for instance, of the “Dresdner Drum & Bass Festival” in Dresden, Germany, as well as several concerts with the band Mean Messiah. After completing the tour, I made the difficult decision to leave the band due to the reasons mentioned above. Now, I am feeling better and looking forward to the future, with excitement for more musical and personal experiences.

Despite all of this, I celebrated my 40th birthday in June by releasing a new Drumming Syndrome video, “40 Broken Sticks.” (You can find more information about the video on the “Ireport” and “Spark” websites. – only in Czech, sorry) The release of the full Drumming Syndrome album, currently titled “Drums or Nothing” (the title may still change), has been postponed from the end of this year to 2025 due to the reasons mentioned above. due to the reasons mentioned above. Although I have to cut back a bit on Drumming Syndrome gigs in 2025 due to Dymytra’s busy calendar, I’m looking forward to enjoying drumming and everything around it again.

This year, I also recorded drums for a new Dymytry album, which was released in November under the title “V dobrým i zlým” (“For Better or Worse”). The album launch took place at a big “Monster Meeting” concert in Prague’s O2 Arena, where we were also awarded a platinum record. At the end of February 2025, we will kick off a major twenty-concert tour across the Czech Republic, which will continue in the summer at various festivals.

Finally, I want to thank God for allowing me to do what I love. I also want to thank all my close friends for their support and help during difficult times. And thanks to all of you, my fans, for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the concerts in 2025!!!
